How's the Quebec indexing going?
« on: Friday 07 September 07 02:33 BST (UK) »

When there was a week of freebies I did a manual search through the Quebec parish records, but they did mention an indexing project someone was doing in conjunction with the U de M...it was supposed to be completed sometime this fall I thought. Any word on how it's going?

Cheers,
China

I've been playing with it all morning, instead of doing laundry Grin

Well...it's better than no indexing, but I must say the transcription is up to Ancestry's usual standards Shocked William Patterson marries James Patterson in 1848....it only takes a microsecond to see that William James Patterson married Sarah Watts in actual fact...

The sort function does not work, and the exact match checkbox returns no results...seaching for a person and a spouse yields hits with the spouse's surname...it's not as if these are the only results available, I could understand that...

Hope they get the bugs out soon.

Cheers,

No way to submit corrections yet, either, when you find a Mr Patterson marrying Miss Mary Spinster Grin

Hi Sandie,

There's a marriage in 1917 of Lawrence Greenland, son of William Greenland and Margaret P..... to Gertrude Hayden?

Could he be yours?  If so I'll post the rest of the details.
