All Saints Writtle

Hi all,
      I don't know if anybody can help me, but i have recently been given some burial dates for some relatives in Writtle which i am assuming are for All Saints Church. I am thinking of visiting the church yard to see if the grave stones have any more usefull information (i.e. ages, relationships) to help confirm the dates with the correct people. Does anybody know what condition the grave yard in Writtle is like ? Are the grave stones in a reasonable condition (specifically ones from the late 1700's into the early 1800's).

Hi Everybody,
    Just to let everybody know, i went to Writtle today and whilst the grave yard is very neat & tidy unless you are looking for a grave from about 1940 on wards you will struggle. It appears that most of the older headstones have been removed, and the ones that are left have virtually no markings left. Even the graves with just a border are almost impossible to make out the words.

Ive just been to Writtle to look at some of the graves there, I was lucky enough to find my great great grandparents graves and other family members of the Skingleys, maybe a bit of pot luck, lots of them had sunk a bit into the ground, but you never know.  Writtle is just beautiful, worth just going down to look at the pretty little village.

I visited All Saints yesterday and quite a large section of the older graves have been cleaned up and are very clear to read.
However I do recomend that anyone with a connection to Writtle contacts Wendy Hibbitt.
Also I must say that Writtle is a very pretty place and well worth a visit even if you have no connection.
