What is the 'Counties in England' Website?  I have managed to find the other stuff (and more) on familysearch.org, but I don't think I know the other one.

Cheers

Hi Leah,
Its a site I found ages age and is in my favourites & the only way I have been able to get it by not going to my favourites is to put all this in. (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle)
Try this a see if you get it

Hi again Leah,
Called in Library this afternoon to check Spalding Cemetery records. 3 Wiseman graves but no William. They were John Joseph & Selina, John & Emma, Alfred & Elizabeth Ann. The 1st & 3rd would be the ones in the directories & the other John came from Moulton Eaugate so I don't think they are of interest to you. Also only one Rate, George died 8th May 1979 age 59.
There are 36 entries for Wright and I did not have time to look at any of them or for or Evans & Allen.

Ah yes.... I use this site often, and find I get way more results than by going directly to the familysearch website.

Thanks

Just a quick update to let those that are interested know that I finally found the birth record for Rebecca Wright... turns out she was registered as Ann Rebecca WRIGHT!!  They must have changed their minds about her name between the registration and the christening, as for the rest of her life she is referred to as Rebecca, except on her Death Certificate where she is referred to as Rebecca Ann.

I still haven't had any luck with the mysterious William WISEMAN and can find no record of another marriage for Rebecca.  (I have her marriages to William RATE and John ALLEN).

I have still been unable to confirm the death of William RATE.  Do I assume that he died prior to Rebecca's marriage to John ALLEN, and therefore send for death certs?  Or was it not unheard of for people to re-marry when their first spouse was still alive?

I have found the following deaths:
Deaths Dec 1880   (>99%)
Rate  William  83  Bourn  7a 232
~~~~~~~~
Deaths Jun 1883   (92%)
Rate  William  73  Stamford  7a 213
I'm thinking that I might send for the Bourn one first... would that be closest to Langtoft, where they lived?
So much for a quick update!  Anyway, I'm still working on it... time will tell I'm sure.
Cheers
Langtoft was in Bourne Reg District.
