Just discovered my gt gt grandparents and family living on Gigha in an 1827 census. Donald Rankin, his wife Agnes Anderson and all but their last child were born in Inverary or Lochgilphead: Elizabeth was born in Gigha.  The family didn't stay there long, and moved to Glasgow.

Census showed they were living at Tighanrhu.  Anyone any idea where on the Island that was?
