Trying to find a birth or even a burial would do!!
« on: Tuesday 11 September 07 15:30 BST (UK) »

Hi

I am trying to find the birth of Jonathan Sleeman who was married in 1776 in North Hill, Cornwall.  He married Mary Couch and is stated to be of this parish.  The witnesses are Richard Couch and what looks like Daniel Turner However I do not seem to be able to find him, although I have found plenty of Couchs.

Can anyone help - I'm stuck  Cry

He may be the Jonathan Sleeman on a Land Tax assessment for 1805, so was alive then.

Oops I forgot to mention that he married in North Hill and then moved to South Hill.

Thanks Sylvia - have used this site quite often!

Have now resorted to visiting my local family history centre and ordering films and microfiche.

hi krissy

The only William I have around that date was 1805 but I don't have a marriage for him.  I haven't looked primarily because he was not a director ancestor, something like first cousin 4x removed!

So thanks for the thought but I guess that possibly he is not one of mine.

Thanks
