I am looking for more information on these families generally in the New Deer, Strichen, and Rathen area (1700-1800's). Some of the family members may have left and went to other areas of Scotland but were mainly from the Aberdeen area. Names I am interested in are:
Peter Thomson married Susan Gordon
William Thomson married Jane Duncan
Alexander Gordon married Anne Kidd
Alexander married Janet Dyker
Gavin Duncan married Jane Sandison
Gavin Duncan married Ann Dyder

I have a little information from census records. For William Thomson I have 1851, New Deer, and 1861 Rathen. For Gavin Duncan, Sr. 1841, Corbshill, New Deer, and Gavin Duncan, Jr. 1841, and 1851 Corbshill, New Deer.
I hardly have any information on Peter Thomson or Alexander Gordon, Sr. that married Janet Dyker, or Alexander Gordon, Jr. that married Anne Kidd.
I have another question about Cairnie By Huntley. Is this one town or two separate towns?

Karenlee, Thank you for the census look-ups. I haven't checked the IGI for these families yet. I just started looking for them. It's interesting that Ann's place of birth kept changing in the census. I didn't have a couple of their children so thanks again for posting their children. Surprisingly James who seems to be their oldest is one I didn't have. I don't have any idea who the grandchildren belonged to. But they may give clues as to who the daughters married.

The IGI has rather a lot on some of the families that you are interested in. Have a look there before you go any further... it may be a big help.
