Crossle Abstract Collection - Link

Members researching families from Newry might find it worthwhile having a look at the Crossle Abstract Records which is one of the most outstanding sources of genealogy information for the Newry area. These abstracts carry an unusual detail of the families of Newry and surrounding area in the 1800's.  They include addresses, family members and occupation information.  It is uncommon to find such a collection in Ireland.  The coverage of families in these abstracts does include some families beyond the area of Newry Town.    The Crossle Abstracts Collection/Films are highly recommended as a Newry area resource.

The Collection and a book about the Newry Masonic Lodge  written by Dr. Francis Crossle are in the LDS Central Library at Salt Lake City. This book contains a lot of history about the men (and their families), from the Newry area, who belonged to the Newry Lodge. I'm checking to see if there's a copies of the Collection and the book available for researchers in Ireland.
