Robert NEVELL the Elder of Wooburn

I have traced my ancestry back to Robert Nevell the Elder of Wooburn, blacksmith, through his son Robert.  I have a copy of his will which names his 3 children - Robert the eldest son, Henry the youngest son and Elizabeth a daughter.  Unfortunately I have hit a dead end trying to trace the parentage of this Robert the Elder.  His will indicates he was a man of property, leaving his house to one son and money to his other 2 children, as well as 12 napkins to his daughter! His eldest son Robert married Jane Becke on 27/03/1649 which gives this son a birth of c.1629 at a guess and therefore Robert the Elder nearer to 1600. I have no idea who his wife was as she wasn't mentioned in the will, so he probably was a widower.

Could anyone help trace his parentage?

I have pages of Nevells/Nevills off the IGI - the name varied even in the will and there appear to be 2 major clusters in Berkshire, one near Appleford and the other near Binfield/Waltham Saint Lawrence.  The latter is the closest to Wooburn and contains the same family names.  I have checked the Nevells of Bucks and they appear to be much fewer in number.


Any help would be appreciated and if anyone wants me to check my list of Nevills for a name in their tree I'm quite happy to do so.
