Hello,

I'm trying to help someone find the birth record of his Great Great Grandfather but unfortunately I haven't been successful.

His name is John Tate. He was born about 1835. His parents are Joseph Tate and Mary Johnson/Johnstone.

Sorry Mary's family name comes in various versions.

I found John Tate in the 1841 census of Longtown living on Main Street age 6.

I have searched through the IGI database for all christenings with the first name John from 1832 to 1837.  Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

No joy  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Most of the rest of the line show up in Arthuret or Kirksandrew on Esk.

I'd really like to find his birth record as the person I'm helping has given me so much help with my family tree.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Any suggestions would be appreciated Grin
