Hello Liz,

While i am not related to the O'Hara's, did it say on John's, marriage certificate to Mary McClelland, that his mother was Mary Kelly.

The reason, there is no John O'Hara, pre his marriage date in Ayrshire, with a mother Mary, and a father John.

I know the spelling of O'Hara, will have many variations, I can see who i think is John, Mary, and the child Sarah, on the 1861 census, in St Quivox, Newton on Ayr.

I also think the McClelland, and O'Hara's, lived next door to each other before they were married.

The big question mark is John's, mothers fisrt name, it may not have been Mary.

Do you have the family on any census.

Regards,
Jonn.

On Johns death certificate (1866) it gived is parents as John O Harra coalminer (dec) and Mary Kelly (Dec) . My G Gran was Elizabeth O Harra born 1866, a week prior to Johns death , she was born in Annbank. I believe John OHarra came from Ireland. I have found it very difficult to find them on any census. When Mary remarried they moved to cambuslang, I have managed to track them down there.

Thanks

Hi Chirs,
I am following the family of Robert Fitzimmons& Mary Scullion.Mary died in 1874 leaving 2 children , Annie b, about 1868 and Thomas about 1870. In the 1871 Cenus Thomas is living with a John O,Harroa wife Ann and it says he is a nephew. Is this family anything to do with your O,Harro,s as I don,t Know anything about Robert Fitzimmons.

Regards
