i am looking for Mary Ann Dew born about 1845. Hare, Herts.
she went on to marry Charles Turner in 1865 but i am looking for her birth and from that her parents and family.
not on familysearch.org.
i have found her birth on freebmd but it says royston. after looking on a map the only hare is hare street. which is near royston. is this the one. does anyone have any other dews born here.
any clues?

I would think that the Hare is actually WARE.

Ancestry has  two birth records for Mary Ann Dew  in Royston  District,   1842 and 1844  -  so beware.

The family are transcribed as DEWE on the 1851 census viz   ...

thanks everyone. i have ignored the ones on igi cos they were posted by USA people and the last time i followed the USA thread i got inot all sorts of problems. knowing that she never went there has meant that i can follow the nglish ones intsead.
i know mary ann dew is a common name as i put in mary dew on any place on freebmd and it came up with so many it couldnt display them.
anyway it looks like its one of those 2 so i folllow them both up and see where they go.
