Hi , can someone find this couple for me. They are probably in Cranfield or Marston Moretaine.
James HALLWORTH/HALLSWORTH/ALLSWORTH/ALSWORTH-age 65-born in county-Publican? Mary-(surname variants as above)-age 65-born in county.
Many thanks, Trisha

Hi Trisha,
I'm wondering if this could be your James, but nothing lost if it isn't .. ..
1841 census: HO107/6/18, folio 8 page 10
Bedfordshire, Marston Moretaine
James Hallworth, 60, Ag Lab Elizabeth, 45 Sarah, 9 Caroline, 7
All born in county
Unfortunately the writing is very faint and quite hard to read!
Kind regards,
Pels

I concede defeat - I hate sayng this because someone else will then find them .. .. which in this case I sincerely hope they do?
I have found a death for someone I assume is James in 1848 though:
Death, Jun qtr 1848 James Hallworth Ampthill, Vol 6, page 14
Regards,
Pels

Hi Trisha and Pels

Not if one or both were dead!
Whilst Ancestry has transcribed James' age as 60 in 1841, the CDrom set which again is very clear, has his age as 40, which ties up with 1851. So I think he can be ruled out - probably the son of James and Mary
There is a burial of a James Allworth in Marston Moretaine age 37 on 13 May 1813. There's a marriage on the IGI of Mary Hallworth on 17 Nov 1820 to William Burridge at MM. You'd need to check the parish register to see if she was a widow.
There's a burial at MM of Mary Burridge age 75 on 29 May 1850. Why did people always die just before a census?
1841 HO107/6/18 folio 5B Marston Moretaine William Burridge 60 ag lab Mary Burridge 60 Jesse Burridge 15 (age in male column) All born in county
There's only one child on the IGI baptised to this couple, Jesse in 1822, which would be understandable if Mary was born in the mid/late 1770s
All idle speculation of course!
David

Hi David and Pels, Many thanks for all the work. David, you're right in thinking that James Hallworth (b. 1776)and his wife Mary had a son John. They did and he married a woman called Elizabeth from Chichley in Bucks.Pels you had the younger James all the time. But finding that family is very useful to me.I didn't know of Sarah and Caroline's existence.Thank you. As for the elder James being the burial in 1837,it has to be proved I know but it does seem very likely. Again with the 2nd marriage,to be proved. There is however an already existing BURRIDGE family connection which might have introduced them.James the elders and Mary's daughter Sarah married a George BURRIDGE b 1807 of Cranfield or Marston Moretaine. They also had a son Jesse which made me look twice when I saw it because I thought it might be a grandson staying with his grandparents but even with the 5 year leiniency either way it doesnt work(I think-I writing this very quickly in my tea break-lol) as George and Sarah's Jesse was born in 1843 .Mind you I havn't checked whether he's with his parents in 1841(he is alive he lived until 1907). Trisha
