just a thought but there were 3 Female Starks births registered in 1871-1873 although none in Berkshire or anywhere near where the border may have changed over the years.

1871 West Derby, 1872 Weymouth 1873 Louth

Hi,

Do you think she could have been fibbing about her age?

I found this birth,

Georgine Delfine SLARK    Mar Q 1867    Easthampstead    v.2c  p.402

with such unusual forenames it looks hopeful, but I can't find her in any census  Sad

I also found this in 1891,

1891  RG12/33  f.53  p.97  Kensington

Delphine STORK    Serv    S    23    Nurse    Switzerland

Living in the Household of Richard H COLLINS.

I wonder if she grew up in Switzerland so she was thought of as 'from Switzerland'  Undecided

On the 1891 cenus was Delphine Stork living at 71 Cottage Grove in Clapham as this is where she was as a ladies maid when her son Arthur was born.
Strangely no father is listed on the birth Certificate. She later married a chap called Arthur Eade who became the young Arthur's father.
My whole tree could be wrong if the person she married was not the dad. Huh

Back to George Stark who as Albert Starks father i have done my own research this afternoon on family search website and found that in 1881 a Gege Stark who was a Woodman from Caesers Camp, Easthampstead was married to a Sarah Stark and they had a son called George.
I think now that Alberts father must have been a Widow and remarried when Maria died. Now i can look for Maria's death and order the certificate to find her surname.  Grin
