Can't see family in Downham in 1851. Have you checked the Searchable databases on the Cambridgeshire family history society site? www.cfhs.org.uk. They have indexes to the 1841-1861 censuses
Many thanks, yes that is them in 1861. At least I know not to continue looking for the wife of Thomas. Thomas died November 1861.
I had looked at CFHS census info, couldn't find them in 1851 - I found a possible in the Ely area in 1841 with dtr Elizabeth and several others but didn't know if all the children were theirs but the census in 41 wouldn't give relationship anyway. I see on the 61 that son Thomas was bn Ely so that definately ties that one in.
The daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Woolston -Sept qtr v1849 Whittlesea RD and was living in West Fen, Downham in 1861 giving pob as Downham.
