Following my search for William Vernall, b C. 1834, in the 1851 census, I have now got a copy of his marriage cert. from 1863. This says his father was also William Vernall and that he was a "relieving officer"
In the 1841 census there is William Vernall, relieving officer, with presumably wife Elizabeth and 3 children, including a William aged 7 living in Frog lane Bromyard. In 1861, there is a William Vernall, relieving officer, with wife Harriet living in Frog lane, Bromyard. So Elizabeth must have died.
In the IGI there are baptisms of 3 children of the same names and near ages, as those of William's children from the 1841 census, but the parents are named as William and Esther. The children were baptised in Avenbury and nearby Much Cowarne.
Could someone please look up the details in the 1851 census for this family for me?
I didn't find deaths of either Esther or Elizabeth Vernall between 1841 and 1861.
Eric
