Hi Monica
Thanks for the 1851 ...they were under CookE ..I think Thomas, the dad was born in Devon, Barnstaple ... sometimes people hear it as BarnstaBle
this looks interesting ...from national archives .....re thomas and Jane Cooke
North Devon Record Office 2309-3/46/23 Assignment of a Mortgage 1. William Northcott of Castle Cary in Somerset, gent. 2. Jane Cooke of Barnstaple, wife of Thomas Cooke 3. John Parkin of Newport, innholder Property: Three lots of land with three dwelling houses part of Congerham, Newport
I think Thomas COOke may have been married to a Mary Ann in 1841 ...will check further ....

WOW Deb - lots of good info there
I think I might have found a better fit for the marriage of Thomas Cook(e) and Jane. Assuming he was married first to Sarah who died 1st qrt 1842, there is this marriage:
Marriages Jun 1847 Cook Thomas Williton 10 853 Griffith Jane Williton 10 853
There are a couple of other female names on the page. But, I thought the place of marriage was relevant and also the surname Griffith given the name of one of their children (GILES GRIFFITHS COOK).

Hi Debzzzz
So glad you have had a wonderful time with your family
I would keep searching on this thread as we have gathered all the info here ...this would be good in that we would not have to keep on refering back to this thread . Maybe what you could do is change the 'subject title' to include Thomas' name , maybe DOB too ...that way anyone with an interest in either of them can find them here ...
what do you think ?
