Hi Ricky
That is what I was told by a relative, as I found a marriage in 1851 on free BMD, I took this a certain.
I am not sure where to go from here if this is not correct
Thanks for the other information you have found
Cheers Soo

Hi Soo
I couldnt find a Ann Allen on the 1841/51 census from Thorpe Acre.
Plus looking on the 1861 there first child wasnt born till about 1858, if they married in 1851 thats 7 years without children which is a long time, even by todays standard, unless they lost some before John A was born. I have my doubts about it being Ann Allen, will see if I can dig anything else up

Hi Soo
On a certain website, there is a family tree saying that John Elles married Ann Webster, her parents were Athony and Mary Webster. Ann was in Thorpe Acre on the 1841 census aged 10
H0107/ 596/ 11 folio 6 page 14
And I think John and Ann's son was John Athoney Ellis. I am not saying the tree is correct, but its a possible.
there also is a marriage in 1853 Loughborough Leics for a John Ellis to a Ann Webster. Vol 7a, page 233. Could be worth thinking about
regards
