I'm a little confused now.  The earlier post on here said that Anthony & Elizabeth had 14 children christened in Horsell, but no Thomas.  I'm looking at the 1841 census ref HO 107/1074/5 and that shows Anthony & Elizabeth  with Children being

Allin 30 (presume Allan)
Thomas 14
Samuel 12
Hannah 10
Joseph 8

The other 4 all match the earlier posting.  Any other clues as to where Thomas was Christened and where the other children were at that time?

I can't see Thomas' christening! Unfortunately the 1841 census doesn't give relationships so we can only presume he's Anthony's son (Thomas' marriage[sub][/sub] cert would prove or disprove it).

I have now obtained a copy of Thomas Fisher's marriage to Emma Hazell at Chertsey register office on 18/05/1872.  His father is shown as Anthony Fisher (deceased).  Anthony had 14 other children, all of whom were christened at Horsell.    However, I can find no trace of Thomas there.

I have checked the parish records at the Surrey Records Office in Woking, again there is no trace.  He was born c1828, again no records in parish when all others appear to be registered.    I am trying to get a DOB of at least a baptism date.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

There's a possibility that Thomas was baptised as an adult, somehow he slipped through the net when a child.  I've had in my own tree someone who got himself baptised on the day of his marriage, perhaps just to make sure Roll Eyes

PS.  Another possibility is that Thomas was not his given name at his baptism.  Perhaps it was John Thomas but he always used the second name.

Thanks for all your help.

I now have the marriage certificate for Thomas which shows Anthony as the father.

Thread now completed.
