Mary Elizabeth Baker
« on: Sunday 12 October 08 11:54 UTC (UK) »

I am seeking information regarding the family of my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Baker Wilkinson.  Mary Elizabeth Baker was born on April 28, 1874 to James Baker and Charlotte Forrester.  Mary married George Wilkinson on September 7, 1903.  They lived in Wicklow Town. Her address at the time of her marriage was 3 Mt Norris Villas, Bray.  Anyone out there with any knowledge about the Baker and/or Forrester families?Huh

IGI also lists Mary Jane Baker born 20 Nov.1872 Co. Dublin to James Baker & Charlotte Forrester. Perhaps the family lived in Co. Dublin earlier?

If you do post a query on the Dublin board please link it to this thread to avoid duplication and confusion.

The Church of Ireland records for Wicklow Town, are no longer in Wicklow. The Rev. Clarke has sent them on to the Representative Church Boady Library, in Dublin. These are the actual ledgers kept by the Rectors, and have great remarks written in on some of the records by the Rector. They have the birth, marriage and DEATHS which are great. You can consult the library mon - fri for free. They do not do research themselves but are very helpful.

Sarah Jane's son still lives in the Town, perhaps you could arrange to meet me when you come to Wicklow, love to be of help

Actually, I do plan on seeing him...His name is Jim Giff...I met him about 13 years ago when I last was in Wicklow.  We have kept in touch over the years and I will be spending some time with him ...he must be in his 80's by now.  I was interested to see that Mary Baker and George Wilkinson did have a third child that died.  This child would have been a sibling to my grandfather.  that must have been the Rose Jane you mentioned before...Elizabeth Jenkinson was Thomas Wilkinson's sister...
Thank  you so much for your kindness...It is greatly appreciated...
