I am new to rootschat, but am researching my husband's family tree - the Wares family from stroma.  I too would be interested to find more about Helen Bowar such as parents etc. but can tell you the she married Donald Warse (b.1759)  on stroma on 26th June 1784.  The marriage certificate is available on Scotlandspeople website.  Thanks for her DOB - where did you find this as I cannot find a record of her birth.

I was reading the old Statistical Accounts and it would appear that about that time Bower/ Bowar was one of the commonest names in Stroma but I cannot figure out what happened to them
