Bradwell Ancient & Modern by Seth Evans
« on: Monday 24 September 07 21:11 UTC (UK) »

I have been informed that a possible ancestor of mine is listed in this book (Bradwell Ancient & Modern by Seth Evans) and wonder if anyone who maybe has a copy could do me a look up.
My possible ancestor was a Frederick Archer who was listed as a survivor of the "Bradwell Fever" plague that killed a great many of the inhabitants of the village of Bradwell in 1869,

Any information other than his name would be most appreciated.

                                  Michael Archer

Note My Gt.Gt.Grandfather was the Inn Keeper at the "White Hart Inn" at this time & I am wondering if this was maybe a Son or Grandson of his that I didn't know about.

Hi

I have got a copy of this book all it states is that Frederick Archer Recovered in December 1869 and that "between 200 and 300 persons were attacked, and about 70 succumbed to the malady"

Thanks for your reply. I now too have a copy of this book, but still do not know whether this Frederick Archer was one of my ancestors or not.
I did look through the BMD records & found a Frederick living in the area at the right time & sent for his Birth Certificate. It turned out to be a Farmer's son from Hunshelf, James Thompson & his wife  Hannah Stead who were no relations to my Archers.
