Anyone have any Angus MI books...
« on: Tuesday 25 September 07 12:25 BST (UK) »

...in particular

Angus MI - Vol. 2. Pre-1855 for Arbroath and Montrose

or

Angus MI - St Vigeans

If yes, could you do a look up, please, for any Youngson (Youngston, Youngsen etc) entries?

Thanks, in hope.

Thanks. If I ever manage over to the Dundee area on a visit to Scotland, I will certainly give them a try.

It's probably a lot cheaper to buy a copy than take a trip to Dundee (unless you are very close). Tay Valley FHS has all 4 volumes for sale, vol 2 is £13.50 +p&p.

Scotmum,
I have two of these books. Which Youngson names are you interested in ? There are entries for Inchbraoch (Rossie Island )  &  Montrose Parish Church (St Johns). There is also a Youngston in St Vigeans.

I haven't heard of Inchbraoch (Rossie Island ), so not sure if those there would be of interest. If not too many, I would be interested in all from Montrose and St Vigeans (spelling variations included), as my research is suggesting those of the surname from these areas may be connected. PM me with the details when you get the time, or if too much for PM, let me know and I will send a PM with my email addy.

Your offer of help is really very much appreciated.

Hello again,
I found 5 grave record for Youngson and 1 for Youngston. I shall send a PM with the details later today.

If you find any that links to you I can photo them as I live in the Angus area !

I haven't heard of Inchbraoch (Rossie Island

It used to be an island in the river/estuary from Montrose Basin to the sea, but the south half of the channel was filled in and the island is an island no longer.
