Funny,I was thinking that today...that I know nothing about her.
Apart from, that she was brought up just by her mum,and she has a sister I believe?
No doubt we'll know a little more tomorrow night. I bet they don't do it in order though and flit from one side to the other side of her tree just to confuse us

Well - I'll hold my head in my hands when I say this .. .. but I can't stand the woman .. ..
I'm hoping she proves me to be totally wrong, as people quite often do and I can then see a different side to her character.
To be honest I'm really looking forward to this one - most likely for all the wrong reasons!

Oh Pels! I thought I was the only one...........there's just something about her ........can't explain it. Maybe I'm just envious as I'm hopeless at numbers!
Nanny Jan
I'm a bit the same ....but can't explain why!!

I found this:
Carol Vorderman was born on 24 December 1960 in Bedford.
Carol Vorderman was brought up in North East Wales and attended the Blessed Edward Jones Catholic School in Rhyl. The equations expert in Countdown was inspired by her maths teacher, Mr Parry. Vorderman went on to study engineering at Cambridge.
...
It came from here.

Her birth registry reads:
Vordeman, Carol J. mother's maiden name 'Davies'. Perhaps that's where the Wales connection comes from. Good Welsh name 'Davies'.

I found this last night .. ..
Carol's great-grandfather has two butterflies, several insects, and even a worm named after him!

Why does this sound ominous?

Oh Pels,
I have tears rolling down my face laughing at this.
Probably not the Vorderman side, but my imagination is running riot now.
A Vorderman worm.........Hmmmmm.
I can't wait.

The butterfly Tanaecia pelea vordermanni
This butterfly, from the obscure Indonesian island of Belitung (west of Borneo) was named in honour of the father of the television personality, Carol Vordermann.

Taken from the Natural History Museum! Why do the BBC have to do this to us - will she look pleasantly shocked when all this is unravelled?
I'm wondering if we could do it first to spoil the surprise?

I saw an interview with her years ago (Parkinson perhps?) and her family was very poor - when she was a child her mother and herself used to live in their car. Don't remember about the sister.

I also do not hold CV in high regard, but, I said that about Barbara Windsor, but I enjoyed her episode very much, even if she did think they were all called "Do", so will not say too much re CV, but hopefully it will be a good show, mind you I bet she can work out real quick how old they all are and when born !!!
