Jane, let me know when you're arranging this for and I'll whizz up for a visit (as long as it's not during school) (and as long as you don't mind me taking over your house for a few days!).  You know how much I love Grange Town etc!!!  Maybe we can get the bods at Eston Cem to put markers on the unmarked graves of those who cannot be named...?  Wouldn't that be fun!!

Hi, I'm in the area too and my dad is buried in Acklam cemetry.
Andrea, you weren't far from me then, we were off Church Lane.

I am going to be in Cumbria for a couple of weeks from Oct 26th - Nov 5th so could pop across then.  Otherwise school holidays are best for me too.  We have  relatives in Kirkby Stephen and are often there.   Most of my family in Middlesbrough are dead now - lots of cousins still around but sadly, I have not really kept up with them.  I left the area in the late 1950s.  Went to Whinney Banks Junior and then Kirby Grammar but only for a year before my parents moved to Cambridge.

Hi, I was born in the late 50s so our paths wouldn't have crossed. I did go to Whinney Banks  infants though, before Kader school was built and then back there for two years secondary school, moving on to Acklam High which was no longer the boys grammar school.

A weekend is better for me to meet up, as I work mornings, but I could do afternoon and evenings I am sure we could find somewhere to serve us a drink or two  Tongue

I'm in Wales now, but lived opposite Ayresome Park  until we moved to Trimdon Avenue in '76; my grandparents are at Acklam Cemetery...won't make it again this year, but anyone willing to meet up next spring...

Hi All
I went to Acklam High too, in the late 1960s -early 1970s and then on to Kirby College, but living in Surrey now!

Is there any chance of a copy of the Linthorpe Cemetery map Jane, I have a grave reference of C12 0 68 where an aunt of mine was buried in 1933 aged 5.?

Apologies Amanda for not replying sooner, I will have to wait for mum to come back off her hols, as she has it, I dare not go through her files  Shocked  I might mess them up, if you need it quicker, you can also contact the office I posted for Madpants and they will post you one out.
