Hello Tazzie

Thanks for letting me know your situation.  Sorry you have been ill, and to hear of your other troubles.  Glad you are better now, and look forward to hearing from you.

I haven't come across Leighton Buzzard in my particular line, but you never know.

Hi Delta.....

Ok here is what I could find.....

James as you have bap 1816 to William & Elizabeth . The book around this date is very heavy and has not copied well onto the film but I could not see other Walduck births for siblings.
William married Elizabeth MAYIER ( she signed her name william X). In the main part of the wedding details the vicars has it spelt MEYIER. There is no sign of a marriage to a Phoebe in Bletchley.
His mother & father were William & Esther FLEMMEL as spelt in the books.
It looks as though William b 1781 died 1820 as I found this.

5Jan 1820 William Walduck age 39 was buried.
Now there could well be other children as they married in 1806 and they could be nearby but at another church. Again deaths very hard to read and only these burial are transcribed .....

   4 Sept 1834 John age 77
  23 April 1837 James infant
   6 March 1840 Isabella age 51
   2 Nov 1840 Thomas infant.

here are the other readable gleanings from the PR's...

9 March 1781 William Walduck married Esther Flemmel (both of the parish by banns)
witnessed by Wm Purcell & Thos. Allen
      rector    Thos. Willis.

Nov 18 1781 Wililliam son of William Walduck victualler of Fenny Stratford & of Esther his wife was baptised.

  1790 Esther dau of William Walduck Labourer ( Sept/Oct 12 )

James buried 1805 age 16 son of William Walduck.

   William & Elizabeth banns called.....Oct 12
                                                           Oct 19
                                                           Oct 26    1806
witnesses at wedding were...Thos Sear & Ann Holiom/Holiman?

Other marriages from transcribed records are...

8 April 1780  Wm Daniel to Ann Wallduck b otp
11 Nov 1787 John Clarke to Mary Walduck
12 May 1791 George Holton to Martha Walduck
24 Oct  1808 Wm Baisley (Baiseley) to Elizabeth Wallduck
2 Apr 1815 Thomas Briant of Fenny Stratford to Izabel Wallduck
18 Dec 1826 John Walduck to Ann Bull
11 Dec 1837 James Walduck ( father Wm) to Sophia Pidford ( father Joseph)
12 Oct 1851 Wm Walduck to Rebbecca Jarvis
30 Jan 1855 David Parrot to Rebecca Walduck
17 Sept 1892 Wiliiam Walduck to Caroline Cox.

I will let you pick the bone out of that one and then if we need can go further from there.

               Best wishes Tazzie Smiley

ps   Have just seen the 3 birth for Wm & Pheobe in Bletchley 1798 onwards. So need to prehaps retry deaths to look for the death of Elizabeth prior to 1798.

Hello Tazzie

Thank you so much for such detailed information.  You are wonderful  Kiss  I realise it is not always easy with the old ledgers - I had much the same problem when I spent Monday morning trying to find the ancestors of my great grandfather's wife.  Although I found quite a lot I did not get the three I actually went to look for!

You mention William and Phoebe's children - so possibly she died prior to 1802 when their 3rd child was born and William then married Elizabeth.  But, personally, I think he is a different William.  William and Phoebe's first child was born late 1798 which would have meant that William would have been just 17.

I will have a good look at everything you have sent me and let you know how I get on.

Did I tell you that William and Sophia's first child Maria was born at Fenny Stratford (one week after they were married)?  Her birth cert. just says Maria but on most of the censuses she is Maria M. and on her death cert. it says Maria Major.  I believe there was an Elizabeth Major baptised 3 Oct. 1779 so could this have been William's wife?

Sophia Pidford was actually Puddephat (Puttifoot on Maria's birth cert. and Puddefoot on my great grandfather's birth certificate!).

Again, thank you so much.

Hello Tazzie

I have had a good look through all the info you kindly found out for me and am sure that I now have the right ancestors for James.  William & Elizabeth Mayier (or Major?) and William and Esther.  The IGI gives his parents as Thomas and Martha - all of Bletchley.

I think it was probably James' aunt Elizabeth who married William Baisely, his great aunt Mary who married John Clarke, and great aunt Martha who married George Holton.

From the IGI there appears to be a great uncle John (1757) and he married Isabel(lla) Pangborn at Newton Longville in 1781.  Their 1st child was born there but the others were born at Bletchley and I think it was their daughter Isabel who married Thomas Briant.

The only family that seems to have stayed in Bletchley by 1841 was John and Ann Bull, and John was probably the only surviving son of William and Phoebe.
So if Phoebe was, in fact, William's first wife before he married Elizabeth Mayier then John would be James' half brother.

So, thank you once again for all your help.
