finding the bride

i have a record of Richard Irving hunter marrying in 1904 cockermouth but no brides name help greatfully received

There is a marriage on free bmd for a richard irving Hunter in the June quarter of 1904 for Cockermouth. 

Hunter  Richard Irving    Cockermouth  10b 1178

Peel  William     Cockermouth  10b 1178

Suddard  Dora     Cockermouth  10b 1178

Wood  Mary Joseph     Cockermouth  10b 1178

so I would say its either Mary or Dora

I normally find that the first child is born ab a year after the marriage, if you look at freebmd for Cockermouth you will find a few entries in the births for Hunters that would fit this marriage,

and if they are still having kids 3Q 1911 onward, you'll see the Mothers Maiden name in the actual Index entry .....  (couldnt spot one in Cumberland tho  Sad )

click on the page number in the FreeBMD entry - its a link to all names with that Vol & Page number in that Regn District.

4 names per page (max - ie 2 marriages)  from mid 1850s - 8 before that

If you're using FreeBMD, you click on the page number (in this case) 1178.  Each page - after 1851ish - has one or two marriages on it (2 or 4 names) - these names are shown in alphabetical order of surname, so you can't tell who married whom without other evidence.

I think the only way your are going to find the brides name out is to send for Richards mar cert,  you have the Vol no and page, so you can be sure its the right one,
