Virtually all of Beds pre 1812 has been extracted onto the IGI. It seems as though this is one that soundex misses - check Jeives. Unfortunately there are three at roughly the right time - 1784, 1786, and 1790. Do you have any further information from his marriage entry?

Regards

hi bb thanks for the reply.
The info i have is that he married Ann Allen (born 1785 waltham abbey) in 1807 at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.
they are my 4x greatgrandparents, john and ann on the 1851 census was living in lewisham, kent from that census i have discovered he was born in Sandy, beds in 1786.
thats all i have on him.

There's a burial in Sandy of John Jeeves age 54 on 19 Jan 1845 which looks likely to be the 1790 baptism.

I'll have a look round and see if we can eliminate one or other of the other two Johns

hi david
I didnt think to look for an alternate last name on the IGI Jeeves instead of Geeves! well i think it could be the one thats bap 15 feb 1786 parents Francis and Alice, looking at the siblings of john there is a couple of Rebeccas and  John and Ann named their daughter Rebecca (my 3x greatgrandmother) and looking back further on this line i noticed francis,s parents were Francis and Rebecca could be a clue although i cant confirm it.
Thanks for looking for me.

I was hoping to eliminate the John baptised in 1794 but I can't find him. I agree that the 1786 seems the more likely, particularly as he had a sister Rebecca.

Do you have the names and birth years of children of John and Ann? One of the daughters - Elizabeth? - appears to have married a James Braithwaite, as a grand daughter Eliza was staying with the Geeves in 1851

More in the morning. Have an appointment with  a barman shortly

the children i have found so far for John and Ann are John 1808, William 1809 and Rebecca eliza 1811
im fine for finding the children from then, i wasnt aware they had another Elizabeth, i was wondering who eliza braithwaite was living with them!
