Bell family of Whitehaven
« on: Tuesday 02 October 07 21:34 BST (UK) »

Hello All,

I have my ggg grandmother Mary Bell baptised 8/12/1799 Whitehaven, daughter of John and Hannah.

Mary married John Robinson.

I cannot find anymore info about the Bell family eg marriage John and Hannah. Is anyone else researching this family?

Hello,

I have a few Bells from Whitehaven (all baptised at St James) in my tree, around this time. Don't know if theres a connection, but I have a John Bell marrying an Ann (not Hannah) and son William and daughter Ann.  Not found anymore children as yet.

Hi Kate,

I think that my Mary was baptised St James too. Cannot see a connection with your Bells but you never know!

Don't suppose either of you have a George Simpson married to a Mary Bell in Whitehaven in 1839? I think they may have had a daughter, Isabella Simpson, who was christened at St James in 1840.
