I copied a page from the Galloway Courier of the period, it conveys the terrible state of the town and the people. There are some names here and I found my family (Kerr) you may be lucky too.

Read the left column first down the two images, then cross to the right to continue.

Hi,

I know this has taken me a long time but I have now added the Chambers' Historical newspaper to our website. The entire article about Cholera that I posted a few months ago is no on-line along with the rest of that edition of the newspaper. I have also added some more local resources. Anyway hope somebody finds it all useful.

I am looking for Rodgersons who lived in Dumfries at that time. They eventually emigrated to Australia. Jeanann
