Marriage

I am trying to find the marriage between George Hughes (Hews) born 12/12/1813 and his wife Mary born abt 1815. (born in county 1841 census)
George was born in Great Gidding, I have found his baptism in the Great Gidding Baptism Registers transcribed by Patrick Ellis, but I cannot find any Marriage entry. So I have been told to try Northamptonshire.
George And Mary are in the 1841 & George is only listed with the children in the 1851 census.
I have been told by a family member that Mary's last name is Plowman, but I haven't confirmed this.

Where are they living in 1841? just cos George was born in g Gidding doesnt mean he married there - they could have married miles away - or even just a neighbouring parish.
where are the children born? (1851 and later censuses should show)
When was eldest child born? - might help narrow down date of marriage, and maybe place.
Getting a birth cert of any child born after 1837 will give the mums maiden name, which should help

Looking at the 1841 census, they are living in the Parish of Stilton (Great Gidding???) Mary was born in Huntingdonshire, so were all the children, John (he is the oldest child) was born 1835 so their marriage should have been prior to this date.

Stilton and Great Gidding are different parishes.
When Civil Registration begins in 1837 Stilton comes under Peterborough Reg district and GrtGidding under Huntingdon.
Looking briefly at FreeBMD and the IGI there are a lot of Hughes's around this area.
So I think you are going to need to be more accurate in where your lot come from.
"Huntingdonshire" as given on 1841 is too wide an area to be meaningful.
In Later censuses people should give their place of birth, rather than just the county. This might help follow the whereabouts of the family at least at the times of the children's births, especially John.
If eldest child was 1835, hopefully some of the younger ones were post-1837

I was wondering if you could also look up and see if Mary was baptised at this church, as I can find no record of her birth. I think she was born around 1815.
