Hello ,
In April this year i posted a message about my G- grandfathers death , and Empea kindley found details and posted them , now that i have got round to trying to order them on G S S A , they say that cannot, download any K A B documents , as the Archives no longer allow them to photograph them , so where do i go now .

Hi there,
Your only option now is to find a volunteer or pay a researcher to transcribe the information for you as any form of copying is banned. With it being such a common name it may not be the one you are looking for - there are 4 John Roberts estate notices between 1880 and 1884 in the KAB archives.
Unfortunately, researching in South africa is not an easy task!

Ah but patience is a virtue and in a few years time details may appear from a different source. Maybe.....

Hello Ruth ,
Since you last replied to my postings sometime ago, i narrowed the dates down to between 1884- 1889. and EmPea replied that she found only one notice between those dates for a John Roberts in Kab of course as she said it may not be him,
So i can only hope someone might volunteer to look it up for me . being a senior citizen i cannot afford a researcher. but as they say good things come to he who waits

Hello
I know how frustrated you are, as I have ordered two Eastate Files from Cape Town Archives through GSSA and am wondering what will happen. I feel powerless because I'm here in NZ, and can't exactly pop over to the Archives to find out about dear mother-in-law's great grandparents myself
