Not sure what's going on with father James EGGLETON's wives:
1) Marriage and Census 1851 & 1861: Margaret Atkinson nee FINNIMORE, she died 1869 2) 1871 ENG: Annie born Shropshire abt 1836, and it infers she has a Australian born son 3) 1881 SCT : Mary Ann born Middlesex abt 1836 4) 1891 ENG : Marion born Southwark Middlesex abt 1836
are the last 3 the same woman, I wonder or just the last 2- I can't find any marriage
in 1891, James is back in England:
1891: Marylebone, London Ref: RG12 / P 94 / F 61 / Pg 29 Address: 25 East St. Buildings Head: James EGGLETON 66, Naturalist (Bird) *, b Chalfont, Bucks Wife: Marion EGGLETON 55, b Southwark, London Son: John R 18, Milkman, b Marylebone Dau: Maryann 17, Milliner, b Scotland
* The "(bird)" bit is added afterwards in different hand - I think it is meant to clarify he works with animals (as opposed to being a nudist ? just kidding!) - in the same way, dau Maryann has "dress" added after her occupation.
DEATH: Jun Qtr 1891 James EGGLETON 66 - Marylebone RD

If you add together the various bits and pieces from the various census entries I think you can be fairly certain that James was born in Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire.
