History of The Navigation Inn, Wakefield
« on: Friday 05 October 07 21:01 BST (UK) »

Hi there

I am looking for any information regarding the history of The Navigation Inn, Broad Cut, Wakefield.  The pub is on the Calder and Hebble Navigation, across the river from the once Charles Roberts site.  I am currently researching my ancestors, husband and wife Joseph Waller and Martha Waller, and their son William Waller. They collectively ran the pub from 1832 (ref Pigots Directory) until approx 1895. Has anyone got any photographs of how it used to be? Does anyone have any information about these individuals? Or any other useful information?

It will be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks
