With the combined census info from 1891 and 1901, I quite like this John:

1871
RG10/3548 8 8
Hickling, Nottinghamshire
Pudden? Lane

William Allen, head, mar, 52, Ag lab, b. Notts Hickling
Elizabeth, dau, 12, scholar, b. do.
Samuel, son, 10, scholar, b. do.
John, son, 7, scholar, b. do.
Ruth, dau, 7, scholar, b. do.

(checking 1861, mum is Elizabeth born ca. 1823 Goadby Leicestershire - shout if you want details)

If they stayed in the Chesterfield registration district, FreeBMD has 2 possibles for Hilda:

Hilda Elizabeth Allen Sep 1901 Chesterfield 7b 854
Hilda Allen Dec 1909 Chesterfield 7b 718

The only Jack (June 1914) has a different mother so your Jack might be one of the Johns:
John Allen Jun 1902
John Norman Allen Sep 1904
John James Allen Dec 1904
John Allen Dec 1906
John Allen Dec 1906
John Allen Mar 1910
John G Allen Sep 1910
John W Allen Dec 1910
John W Allen Sep 1913

There's a member-submitted IGI record:

WILLIAM ALLEN
Christening 09 APR 1819   Hickling, Nottingham
Father THOMAS ALLEN, Mother RUTH

other children christened to Thomas and Ruth according to the same submitter:
Ann 15 March 1813, Alice 3 April 1819, Henry 2 Sep 1821, Jane 1 Oct 1825

 Smiley

Bit of a guess but the best match I can find for Thomas Allen in 1841 is:
HO107/853/17 13 21
Hickling, Nottinghamshire

Thomas Aling, 60, Ag lab, not born in county
Mary, 30, yes (=born in county)
Jane, 15, yes
George, 2, yes

I can't ID William  Undecided
