Good morning
That is the information I have also .. just cannot find a marriage . George Joseph must of had a change in employment because as stated on George A's birth certificate he was listed as "George John" as an "engineer's fitter" How does one access baptism records? As far as I know all their children were born in the area .. Henley .. except for George Authur.
Was it typical for women of that era to marry so late .. .. Ruth would have been 32 when George A was born??

Hi
Baptism records - I have some transcripts on fiche and disk which I purchased from Oxford FHS, I was just lucky to find that baptism in the Wallingford ones, sadly the births registered in the Henley district don't seem to have taken place in Henley itself (or they weren't baptised in a Church of England Church) and without knowing which village they lived in it is hard to check.
There is a later baptism in the Wallinford records for a child of Frederick William Sharmans - I will PM you the details as it is possible that the person concerned is still alive, so best not to put them on the board.

Hi
Well we've tried everything else I think - though quite what they would be doing in Biggleswade which is in Bedfordshire, a fair distance away I don't know. I was starting to wonder if he was born out of the country - maybe in Scotland. Have you found him in any census yet under George King?

Good day
I was searching the 1881 census and I found a George Sharman age1 and a John Sharman age1 registered as nephews of John and Mary Card. Born in Sibton,Suffolk How do I go about finding them ... I couldn't find them om 1891 census. How do I find their parents? I did a little digging and i believe they are Marys nephews as I found a John Card and Mary Sharman married in Blything.

Hi John ...
I wondered if you were amenable to another £7 outlay?!? If so, it may be worth ordering the George KING/Ruth PRYOR 1908 marriage certificate.
In your opening message on this thread you seem to indicate that you know the name of Ruth's father - if it matched on said marriage certificate ... !!!

Hi John - I have puzzled and puzzled on this one and I am not coming up with anything new, it will be interesting to see in the 1911 census where he gives as his place of birth - but we won't get access to that for another 5 years unless anything changes

Hi You Guys........
I have gone over and over this one....will have another go this weekend.....
Do not know if means anything or not, but I have found a George Sharman , on board The "Lake Erie" which sailed from Liverpool to Montreal on 2nd June 1903, he was a labourer age 21.........
It might be worth asking what became of him when he arrived there (on the Emigrants board )
I have just had a thought....what if Ruth went over seas ,with employers !!
Will have another look

Pennie I went and got that marriage certificate ... but alas ... George King is 53 and Ruth Pryor is 48 so that idea is a no go. Since there seems to be only two Ruth Prior (Pryor) married ... one in 1900 and one in 1908 I was wondering where I should go next?? The one the cert is for is the Ruth married in 1908. I've tried searching for George Sharman married to any Ruth from 1900 to 1912 ... and came up blank also. Since I have been searching since 2001 a few more years won't make any difference ... lol

Sorry I haven't gotten back ... yes I would like more information ... I have exhausted my resoures as I know it.
Is there any way for me to get the census discs? or are they too expensive?
If only I had their marriage certificate ... I did send a lot of letters to the "Sharman's " in the area .. hoping to contact a possible relative ... but got no replies.
