Hello, Jenny,
I could find nothing for a bapt for Thomas Law Andrews c 1802 via the IGI so I checked the Hugh Wallis site for all churches in Westminster, including St. George's, but could find nothing for Thomas
The Hugh Wallis site is complimentery to the IGI but can be searched church, then surname.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/index.htm
This site also includes a middle name index, so I looked at Law, & found the bapts for William, John & Ann Maria, also the marriage for father William to Ann.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGILondon/L.htm#Title
Bapts for St George's, Hanover Sq itself have not been transcribed for the IGI but are held at the Westminter Archives.

Hope this helps,
Meliora

Hello Meliora, Thanks for your help. I didn't know about the middle name search facility so thats really helpful. Have just emailed the Westminster site so thanks for that link as well. Like you I found the baptisms for Thomas's sibs and his parents marriage on IGI. It's odd that his is missing so I am hopeful that he was baptised at St George's. Let's hope Westminster can trace it for me. Thanks for your time & trouble Best wishes Jenny

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~brett/swadlincote/swad_marr_50.html - this appears to be a second (or, third, fourth, I guess...) marriage for Thomas? Gives his father, William Law Andrews, as a silversmith.
Perhaps try the Goldsmiths Company, and try and find apprenticeship records.
There is a Ann Frail chrs 16 Jul 1781 at St. James Westminster on the IGI, parents Joseph and Elizabeth. Sisters appear to be Sarah and Elizabeth (both died young) and Martha (1801). There is a marriage in 1780 for Joseph Frail and Elizabeth Croft.
You could check out the Joseph Frail, gun maker, whose will is listed in 1841 on www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline - it might mention his daughter(s)/son in law/grandchildren.

Hello Jorose, Thanks for the link to the Swaddlincote marriage. I had seen it on IGI but not as detailed as the entry that you found. Thomas's first wife died abt 1842 leaving him with her inheritance and 7 infant children. Interestingly I checked the Goldsmiths guild for Thomas who described himself as a goldsmith on his Sun Fire Insurance policy 1824 but I never checked out his Dad William as I never knew he too was in the silversmith trade. Thomas it turned out had a makers mark registered with them but was down as a Gold worker not sure what the difference was. Will check out the Joseph Frail that you found too. Thanks for all the leads, brilliant! Should keep me busy for a while. Thanks & best wishes Jenny
