I had some 16 messages and all of a sudden 15 disappeared including 2 from today.  What happened?

you can search your own posts by going to:

I think what it is is that you are seeing "page 2" of your personal messages. Once you messages goes above twenty, it lists them on a seperate page.

At the bottom of the list of Personal Messages you should see:
Pages: 1 [2]

If you click on the Number 1 you will see your first 20 messages.
