Who are you researching in the Lofthouse family.  My ex sisterin law is  a lofthouse from Knresborough which is in Nidderdale and her family have lived there for years. 
Her name was Moderator comment: details of living people removed to prevent identity theft and other abuses.

Hello,

Thanks for the replies.  I did find Lofthouse in Kirkby Malzeard, but couldn't find any parish records relating to Lofthouse.    My delema is my ggggrandparents licvng in Lythe north yorkshire said they were born in Lofthouse Yorkshire.  I assumed they meant Loftus, but no records of their births there.  So now I am back to looking at Lofthouse in Nidderdale and also Lofthouse near Castleford, Wakefield.   There names were John Rodgers (Rogers) and Hannah Forth both born in the 1780s.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

Sorry Witch 3, forgot to mention I am researching the Rodgers and Forth families which may have come from Lofthouse in Nidderdale.
