Hi Guys
looking for the following couple....
Edith Bosten b @1819 Ottery St Mary Devon
John Bosten details unknown .....sorry...
Edith was born Edith Underwood in Ottery and baptised 10 Jan 1819 father Thomas mother Edith she married in Battlesden Church in 1839.
Bosten was given in register but could be spelt Boston or Bosting all found in Bedfordshire.
Any help would be great...

1861 ... has John Bosten age 43, widower, born Milton Bryant living in Milton Bryant, with children John age 18, Thomas 15, Sarah 12, Ellen 10, Francis 7, George 5, Elizabeth 2 all born Milron Bryant (except John in Eversholt); plus with them is wife's sister Elizabeth Birch, age 40, married.
RG9/1003 Folio: 104 Page: 16
So with that set of names/years they should be found on 1851/1841

Ellen Bowsten, age 9 months, born Milton Bryant

Hi John.....
Have found two John Boston's born Westoning in the 1881 census.
One b 1808 Westoning married to Martha
One b 1820 Westoning widowed living Milton Bryant(mine).
So need to track him down .

Hi Jan.....
Have been following the children who all move from the area to London. They marry under variuos spellings ...surprise surprise... from Boston to Bosting. Have found Edith's death as well so just need to wrap up John's birth.

Little Francis in 41 must have died as there is younger Francis with John in 1861, I can see an 1853 death for a Francis Bostin in Ampthill district which I assume is him but cannot see him in 1851

Yes that must be the one as I have the other Francis in 1881 giving birth of around 1853.
What is interesting is they have an adopted son William Robinson age 2 with them. His sister Edith Elizabeth married a Robinson in 1878...I thought I had found them indexed as Bassane..( thread on census discussions & lookups) now not sure...
