Ladynance enumerators route 1880?
« on: Sunday 15 June 08 18:20 BST (UK) »

Hi
I am trying to find out which of the houses my relatives lived in.
They lived in Ladynance in 1880. I understand that Each section of the census starts with a description of the route that the enumerator has taken and each is given an Enumeration District number. I wonder if anyone can tell me the route the enumerator took.
It is John Bennetts born 1853 in Colan living in Ladynance.
Thanks

Hi SJW,

I'm afraid the Enumerators Route isn't very detailed - here's the description of the enumeration district:
Parish of Colan - Disctrict Number 14
The whole of the Parish of Colan containing the villages of Mountjoy, Ladynance and Besaughn, bounded by St Columb Major on the East, St Columb Minor on the West, West Mawgan on the North and St Enoder and Newlyn on the South.

Ladynance only seems to have 4 households anyway  Huh

Hi

Thanks Carol and Tati

I too had gone back over the previous few pages and then the next few so I take it that this was his route.

There are actually just 5 houses on a little cul de sac really. So as they are last I would assume that they must have been in the house at the bottom of the lane. Shame really as when we visted there last summer a lovely man in the first house who was just visiting let us have a look around the house. we will have to go back this summer and pay more attention to the last of the houses
