Daniel Donohoe « on: Friday 12 October 07 16:53 UTC (UK) »
My great grandfather Daniel Donohoe (O'Donohoe) was baptised on 26 th December 1823 in Borr, Mountrath. Parents were James Donohoe and Margaret Gleeson. Daniel later joined the RIC and served in counties Cork and Wexford and then retired in New Ross. Can some kind soul provide any links of any kind. With bated breath.

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.
Thanks Christopher. Daniel was R.C and married a Margaret Bradley in Kinsale or Ballyvourney ,Co Cork.I have details of their eleven children all born in Co Wexford but no details of Daniel's siblings; I searched the LDS microfilm for Borris,Mountrath,Co Leix from the last quarter 1823 and located Daniel but no siblings .(He may have been the youngest or even an only child. )I will keep trying.
