Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for info on a Mary Ann Shingler B:1803 Albrighton Nr Wolverhampton, Shropshire, she 1st married Benjamin Perks B:1803 Busbury, staffs, with whom she had 4 children, then she married Edward Vickers B:1817 Pattingham, staffordshire, with whom she had 2 children.
I've found out since that an Edward Pursell married a Frances Shingler, could anyone shed any light on this for me, as i'm wondering if Edward or Frances was a Grandchild. 
Sorry if i can't reply straight away tomorrow if someone does come up with anything.

Hi Ruby. Found an entry for an Edward and Mary Vickers in Wolverhampton in 1841. They seem to have a son named George age 1. Also in the household are, Thomas, John and Benjamin Perks, Timothy Jeavons, Edward Purcell and Frances Purcell. As you know there is no relationship in the 41 census. Mary is shown as being born out of the county. In 1851 the family are in New Street, Wolverhampton. John and Benjamin are there(down as sons in law but I believe that stepsons were sometimes called that). Edward Purcell is a widower with 2 sons, Isaiah and Edwin. Mary has another son with Edward named Joseph age 5.

I think it more likely that Frances was the illegitimate daughter of Mary
IGI has this extracted baptism
Frances Shingler 11 Aug 1822 Donington Shropshire, to Mary Shingler
Donington is adjacent to Albrighton

Just to back that up, Isaiah and Edwin Purcell are listed as grandsons on the 1861 census. Let me know if you need full details.
