St Margaret's, Leicester marriage - Willson
« on: Thursday 23 December 04 12:52 UTC (UK) »

Hello all,
On the St Margaret's marriage index site (http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pond/1598/stmargs.html#Initial%20index), I have found marriages of a couple of people in my Willson/Wilson family.
Just wondering if anyone has the fiche or CD containing the details  and would be prepared to let me know the details if I supply the names, years and fiche numbers?
Regards
Sammi

Hi Mike

Thanks for your offer of assistance. The two main ones I am interested in are:

Shadrack Willson m. Sarah King in 1844
and
Charles Willson m. Charlotte Toach in 1850

I suspect they are brothers, and the sons of William Willson. If you could confirm father's name and occupation, and the names of the witnesses I will be eternally grateful!!

Thanks

There seem to have been a lot of Willson's in Eaton St in 1851! Two John Willson's with daughters Mary Ann...

I believe that John Willson at No. 10 was married to Hannah Spencer (from Scotland). John was born in Cossington 1815 and his father was (another - but not the one at No.6!) William Willson who married Martha Winsley at Cossington 6 Dec 1813.

John and Hannah's daughter, Mary Ann, was my g-g-grandmother. She was born in 1843 at Leicester.

I would be interested to hear from anybody who knows if my Willson's are related to any of the other Willson's in Eaton St - or if I've got it wrong!

Many thanks

Rob
