Mary Jane Errington/Atkinson/Stephenson

Could someone with access to 1871 census help please,did Mary Jane Errington born 1849c marry Thomas Atkinson Dec 1870 and did he die 1878 aged 60yrs(not sure if right Atkinson) she then married Joseph Stephenson Dec 1880 with two sons John and Joseph (Atkinson).

Atkinson is a very common name and so is Stephenson so a bit more information would help.  Where was she born?   Can you quote a census?   It is probable that the only way to prove your theory is to get the certificates or search the parish registers.  The boys are shown as Stephenson not Atkinson in the 1881 census - assuming this is the family living in Shotton.

Hi,

Joseph Stephenson was born 1846c Easington Parents John Stephenson and Hannah Siddle.
Mary Errington 1849c was born Shotton.

PS Boys were called Atkinson,but Stephenson on 1881 census.

Not sure? Though there's a death John Thomas Atkinson age 31 in Sep 1878 Easington

Hi,

Thank you looks better than the one I found to big an age gap. son John.T. Stephenson aged 9yrs on 1881 census.Found Joseph Errington Atkinson on BMD June 1878 Easington.

Is this any help? In 1891, Joseph & Mary Stephenson are living at 10 Alice Street, Ryhope.
There is an Isabella Errington, aged 18, born Shotton, visiting the family.
