James NEWELL-1858 baptism-Litlington please
« on: Saturday 13 October 07 17:29 BST (UK) »

Hello
I am looking for the baptism and parents of a James (or John) Newell born in Litlington about 1858. I have him in the 1881 & 1891 census but have been unable to find him in the 1861 or 1871.
Any help would be much appreciated

Do you have his marriage certificate from which you will get his father's name?

I can't find him either in the censuses prior to 1881 - it may be a case of investing £7 in his birth certificate - there are two James Newells born in Royston registration district - Sept 1857 and June 1858. With two so close together you really need the marriage cert to try to separate them
