I have found a newspaper report in the Evening Telegram,Lorain County August 6th 1912 regarding George Truan dying as a result of an accident.

George was employed in the Hoffman sawmill.

Would someone be able to find an obituary please?

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'd also like to thank Lissa.

That's a really useful site and I've just been able to order the death certs of my g grandfather's two brothers who emigrated and settled in Elyria.

I have been searching through census for George Truan and the surname has been spelt as Truran as well which confuses things and I have found whom I believe to be the family on the freecen site.

This has a George Truan age 46 his wife 40 and a daughter Roseline 11 in 1891.
If these are the correct people they belong to my Truan family.

I presume a death certificate will give the name of George's parents?

From the death certificate details Ohio Susan supplied it looks as though the informant didn't given names of George's parents (father: unknown, mother: unkown).

 Wm. Robbins and Mary Ann Hicks

I have  had so much information posted here in such a short time about George Truan that I will now be able look for  George and Eliz's year of marriage on the BMD and as his father's name should be on the marriage certificate I will know if he is the one of the Truan's I am looking for.

I wonder if Rose had any children and what happened to Irene her sister.
