Hi all

Got recommended to try this site to see if anyone can help me with the following query:

I am researching my family history and tree (im sure you have heard that one before lol)
well my dad's side is proving quite a tricky one to get and find information on .. my dad also passed away 7 years ago so its not a case of simply asking him anymore plus he rarely spoke about any member of his family ..

his mum Margaret (Majorie) born 13th June 1928 and died in June 1988, married a polish gentlemen called Zigmunt Tarasiewicz who came to the UK primarily settled in the Derbyshire area (Pinxton notably and then just down the road in South Normanton) in the 1940s now Zigmunt was born somewhere in Poland on the 23rd March 1926 just not 100% sure where and i would like to try to trace any surviving family members that may be alive today in the UK or/and in Poland  Smiley

My dad was raised also by his grandparents whom had the surname Renshaw
(my dad went by the surname McGeown which is what i have)

I know that my dad had a sister called **and her last known whereabouts was in the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire England UK but i last saw her back in 1984 and by all accounts she did have a child.

Anyone know what i can do or where is best place to start as i am pulling hairs out in frustration as you can imagine  Huh

Have you tried to locate a marriage cert for Zigmunt ( be aware that you might have to look for alternative spellings!)?

It might be worthwhile posting on the Immigrants Board of Rootschat to see whether anyone has any specialist knowledge of Poland and Polish immigration.

Is this the right Marjorie?

Birth registered in Salford in the June 1/4 of 1928.

Marjorie Renshaw,mothers maiden name Lewis.

Reference 8d page 556

Is that the surname she would have married Zigmunt under?
