Big favour - if anyone's going to the Records Office.

I'd really appreciate a look up in the Hambleden parish register if anyone is going to the Records Office.

I'm still trying to connect a couple - Joseph & Sarah Symonds - who had a few children in Hambleden, starting (as far as I know) with Henry in 1740.

I can't find any trace of Joseph & Sarah's marriage even though I've had name searches done by Bucks FHS, Berks FHS and Oxon FHS!! Unfortunately, the Bucks searches do not yet include any baptisms in Hambleden prior to 1866.

On the IGI, there is a Joseph & Sarah Simons having 4 children in Cuckfield, Sussex between 1733 and 1737 (submitted IGIs but varified via Family History Online). These  include a Joseph and a Sarah - neither of which names are used in Hambleden - and I can't find any baptisms there after 1737.

What I'd like to know is if there's any reference against the entry for what I think is the first baptism in Hambleden (Henry in 1740) as to where the parents are from? Could they possibly have moved up from Cuckfield?

Any help in either establishing this connection OR knocking it on the head (!) would be great.   Grin
