1841 & 1851 Bristol
« on: Monday 15 October 07 06:58 BST (UK) »

Hi
I would appreciate look ups for the following in the 1841 and 1851 Bristol censuses please -

In 1851 -
Thomas Philip Tanswell born 1835

In 1841 -
Ann Tanswell, christened 1838 but I don't know her dob
Susannah, also christened 1838 but I dont know her dob.

The girl's parents were given as Philip and Susannah and Thomas' as Philip and Susan, but Ann and Susannah don't show up in the 1841 census living with Philip, Susan and Thomas, so I am wondering if in fact they were of the same family.

Many thanks
Mary

could be them
census image is damaged
transcribed as tunnell
philip tunnell age 53 b. bristol. occ. labourer. head.
susan tunnell age 57 b. bristol. occ. bonnet maker. wife
thomas tunnell age 16. b. bristol. occ. labourer. son.
living at clifton,bristol,gloucestershire.
it definately looks more like tanswell than tunnell
maybe some other rootschatter could have a look and give a second opinion

Many thanks Tati and Wozzle.

Yes  it is the right family but I am wondering where Ann and Susannah (both christened 1838 but dob unknown) were if they were daughters of Philip and Susan.  Is there any chance of finding them either in 1841 and/or 1851?  I have Philip, Susan and son Thomas in 1841 but the girls weren't with them.  It may be they are of a different family.

Thanks
Mary
