Not sure if you are still looking for this family.
I had a look through the LDS and found a marriage for James DOUGLAS & Mary Campbell in Edinburgh, 1829.
They also had a son called Robert John born 1850 =, Edinburgh.
This was the only match for ther marriage.

Could it be possible they were visiting Wigtown when Mary was born, worth a though if you haven't managed to find anything else so far,

Hi Audrey l don't know if you are looking for the Douglas's any more l have one of their daughter's Agnes Douglas in my family tree she married Lucien McCubbin at Whithorn on 1861. Her parents are James Douglas and Agnes Campbell[email][/email]karendownie2@yahoo.co.uk

I have a Mary (Marion) Douglas b.c. 1806 Whithorn.
Her father was John and mother Huh Houl.

Mary married 1833 to John Smith and had 9 children in Whithorn.

Does anyone have 1841 census for John Douglas, Handloom Weaver,
or family of Mary and John?
